- Describe the diagnostic criteria for Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD)
- Describe other disorders that share symptoms with ANSD
- Describe treatment options for children or adults with ANSD
Description: The diagnostic criteria for auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD) will be described. ANSD is a complex disorder that can present similarly to other auditory disorders. Once a diagnosis of ANSD has been made there are various treatment options that can be pursued.
Jennifer L. Smart, PhD earned her PhD from James Madison University and completed her postdoctoral research fellowship at The University of Auckland in New Zealand.She is the Director of the Audiology graduate program at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. She serves at the Director of Healthy Hearing for Special Olympics of Maryland. Dr. Smart also serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Maryland School for the Deaf. Dr. Smart's research interests include auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder, auditory processing disorder and personal FM systems.
