Description:
Clinical management of tinnitus has involved a broad array of diverse methods, without standards to guide best practice. Since 2010, Cochrane reviews and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) have examined the literature and reported on methods having an evidence base. Their recommendations will be discussed along with the challenges of implementing them in the clinic. More recent research impacting on these recommendations will also be discussed with an eye toward consensual tinnitus management guidelines.
